Patrick Jouin

Patrick Jouin

Born in Nantes in 1967, Jouin's creativity in both industrial design and in the sphere of luxury is recognised internationally. He received his Diploma from the Ensci-Les Ateliers in 1992 and between 1993 and 1999 collaborated with a company producing television sets, under the direction of Philippe Starck. While Jouin had produced under his own name sinve 1998 it was his work with Alain Ducasse, the famous French chef, that brought into the international limelight.

He has collaborated on outstanding projects with leading companies such as Cassina, Kartell, Gruppo Industriale Busnelli and Bernhardt, and is a mainstay of French design. Few others can so easily and successfully move as he does from furniture design to industrial design.

A set of products he designed (table, chairs, sofa and accessories) was shown at the Cologne Furniture Fair in 2003 but his career was consecrated thanks to the monographic exhibition at Centre Pompidou in 2009 and receiving the Compasso d'Oro Award in 2011.
