Gordon Guillaumier was born in Malta in 1966. In 1989 he moves to Milan to study industrial design at the Istituto Europeo di Design and later to carry out his masters in industrial design at Milan’s Domus Academy. After a brief period as an apprentice with the design firm Baleri, he collaborated with the architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni whereby working on product design and design development. During the same year in 1994 he designed his first own products for the companies Foscarini and Mito.
In 1995 and for the following three years, Gordon worked for the design firm Driade and was responsible for the stategy and design development of the Atlantide and DHouse collections whereby assisting the management team with the art direction for these new collections.
From 1998 until today, Gordon has worked on various projects in relation to design management and art direction; bathroom accessories for Dornbracht Interiors, kitchens for Rational, outdoor furniture for Roda and handles including furniture accessories for Pamar. Since 1998 until today, he has also been active as a designer of furniture, lighting, electrical appliances and objects for various companies in Italia and overseas: Bosa, CasaMilano, DeVecchi, Desalto, Elica, FontanaArte, Foscarini,Montina, Minotti, MG Italy, Nobili, Pamar and Varaschin. His works are regularly reviewed in Italian and international design journals.
